Noah Swaim

Position: Project Manager and Teams Manager at 6:8 Jacó

I’m from Jacksonville, Florida, and I recently graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design. During my time at Auburn, I had the chance to bring creative ideas to life, from building an electric guitar, to designing a pair of shoes, to working on a concept car for Nissan. Outside of design, I grew up saltwater inshore fishing with my grandfather, which gave me a love for the outdoors and some of my favorite memories.

I first traveled to Costa Rica at just 15 years old with a high school mission group, and that trip left a lasting impact on my life. Through the years, I returned time and again, spending school breaks serving with the ministry and deepening connections within the community. Over time, those experiences developed into a clear calling as God placed in front of me an opportunity to love those often overlooked–a lifelong mission.

One of the most personal aspects of this journey is my relationship with Dani and her family. I met them in a refugee neighborhood called Verbena several years ago, and their friendship quickly became one of the sweetest blessings in my life. From helping with school, meals, and doctors’ appointments, to simply being present as a friend, my relationship with this family reflects a ministry deeply rooted in God’s unconditional love. What began with playing in Verbena has now grown into a connection that continues to shape both me and Dani’s family in meaningful ways.

Looking to the future, I will be serving in Jacó as Project Manager and Teams Manager. My role will include preparing for mission teams, managing staff and facilities, and creating an environment where others can experience the life-changing work God is doing in Costa Rica. Since Jacó is a new location with a unique culture, I’m excited to see what ministry opportunities emerge in the community. As I take this next step, my focus is on moving quickly, building a strong support network, and trusting God’s provision as I commit to serving full time in Costa Rica.
