I first traveled to Costa Rica in the summer of 2025, when I heard about the opportunity to go on a weeklong mission trip with my dad. I was far from motivated to go, but my family encouraged me to give it a shot. During that first trip, I truly felt God moving through my experiences at both the Ranch and the City. While in Costa Rica, the Lord stirred in my heart the desire to stay in Costa Rica for a longer time. So, that’s what I did.
After coming home from my first trip, I immediately began preparing to return as an intern in Horquetas. During the internship, I spent much of my time with the MacArthur family, who are now some of my closest friends in Costa Rica. Through Josh’s mentorship and the responsibilities of helping to lead teams, I continued to learn, mature, and listen to what God was saying.
I returned home looking forward to my first year of college, where I studied film & learned how to create them with my best friend. However, during that first year, despite enjoying my classes and community, I was in constant doubt on whether college was for me or not.

That next summer, I interned with 6:8 for a second time, and this time around I got to experience our newest location, Jaco. It was there I started feeling the Lord call me to an even longer commitment as a full-time staff member. In my biggest moment of conflict and doubt, deciding between continuing college or following this new path, the Lord spoke through my parents, confirming my calling through Scripture (Acts 28:30).

The future can be uncertain, but I have comfort in knowing that God is with me every step of the way while guiding my path. In Jaco, the people are lost and feel the need to subject themselves to a way of life contrary to what God has planned for them. I hope to be a vessel for the Lord and have the opportunity to guide these people to Him and the many plans that He has for these amazing people.
