Meet the Mothers

My name is Andrea, and I am the single mother of four children. Through connections with supportive friends in the ministry, I have been provided with the opportunity to generate income by crafting bracelets, which has significantly contributed to my family's financial stability. This work allows me to provide for my children. I am truly grateful for God and 6:8 Ministries.

My name is Scarleth. Our family fled Nicaragua and its troubles, after which our small family became homeless in Costa Rica. The 6:8 Ministries Feeding Center in Alajuelita became our lifeline. The ministry later provided work for my husband in Horquetas and, when he struggled with alcohol, facilitated his 3-month rehabilitation. Now we serve the Lord together, grateful for God's guidance through this ministry. I used to work long hours laboring in fields, but it hardly provided for my family due to childcare costs. Crafting bracelets now offers a better way to support my family and our needs.

I am Kimberly Ramírez and this is my story: my life and what God has done in it. My childhood was relatively normal. When I was 6 years old, my mother became sick with cancer. She fought for 5 years until she lost the battle and passed away, but she died in Christ. She lived out what it means to follow God’s path until her last breath. But I was so upset with God that I decided I didn’t want to know anything about Him. My father was an alcoholic—a man responsible for basic needs, but an absent father. I grew up alone and followed in his footsteps: a street life, alcohol, bad friendships. At 16 years old, I became pregnant with my first son, Ryan. He was my first love. God gave him to me to change my life. He and his three other siblings have turned my pain into healing. God gave me an opportunity to leave my addictions and raise my children. I returned to His arms, which I know had been waiting for me for a long time. God has always cared for me. He loved me even when I walked away. Now, God has placed me on the path of ministry at 6:8, and I have been able to grow spiritually and see my children grow in His ways. They are a great blessing, and I ask that all good things reach them, me, and those who are far away, because my heart was empty for so long. I lived without a destiny, without a purpose, until one day God used 6:8 to bring me back to Him.
