Ashly grew up in Alajuelita, a place full of violence, drug addiction, and prostitution. She was able to learn about God from a very early age from the missionaries she now serves. Some of her fondest childhood memories are playing with team members as they taught her God’s Word. At one of her lowest points, it was a group of missionaries that helped her return to God. She began working with the ministry in 2017, cooking and cleaning the team house, and worked her way up to serving as the Director of the Child Sponsorship Program.
After living in Alajuelita for 20 years. Ashly was called to Horquetas de Sarapiqui to become the Children’s Ministry Director, where she led El Pozo, our children’s discipleship program. When it started, there were only about five children; over the next three years, God allowed her to grow it to more than 150 children.
In 2024, Ashly had the opportunity to get married; unfortunately, it didn’t work out, and they separated. However, she was blessed with the gift of motherhood, now has a new addition to her family: Jared Samuel. After serving in different roles across all three locations, she has settled in Alajuelita, taking on the role of Director of Group Operations in the city.
